We have just returned from a great week in the Okanagan region of B.C. in a town called Pentiction.  It sits in between two lakes and is surrounded by vineyards and is about 4 and a half hours from Vancouver.  (a slice of heaven)  We celebrated Canada Day with the locals and the kids stayed up to watch their first fireworks.  Ooooh! Aaaaah!
